I switched over to the Dalbello Sherpas as they were slightly stiffer and offered an Intuition wrap around liner which has proven to be way more comfortable than the liners in the Virus Tour ID boots. The Dalbello Sherpa boots don't have tech fittings which I would have liked but truthfully if I was going to ski a pair of tech bindings I would switch over to my ultralight Dynafit One AT boots.

Features: 3 aluminum buckles Bio-Stride Tongue which is a 2-piece articulating construction Low cuff hinge Liner: Intuition thermo moldable liner with laces Buckles: Metal banding flush mounted to the boot allowing buckles to be out of harms way Sole: Soft vibram sole wrapped all the way along the arch so you don't slip on rocks with 4 Quadrablock stability pylons embedded in to minimize wear.
Fittings: Tech compatible Verdict: I have to be honest, the word Dalbello and the term backcountry skiing were not synonymous for me. Rating: 8. Although the shell is the same size, the Tour ID feels like it has less volume inside the boot because it has not yet been molded.
Considering that it's more stiff, I think they aimed to make it a "touring" version of the Krypton Pro. However they are very small I wonder about durability and they do not have sweet helper grooves like Dynafit brand boots do.
Also non-swappable. Also Vibram. BOTH boots : -No canting adjustments. Front "tour mode" switch on tongue is difficult to re-lock down. Top buckle is very high up. It is a completely different beast - in a good way. They added a lot, and removed a lot. But, if you have a foot that fits well in the Krypton series alpine boots, you will find a similar fit in the Virus. And yes, in my experience with zzeus compared with other boots, they seem to work well. So the free will work with Dukes but it doesn't have an AFD? Just crappy toe function? If they both have vibram soles with no AFD will they both work with Dukes? Join Date Oct Location 9,ft Posts 19, Dukes have a moving AFD. Do not worry.
